About Us

The Ministry of

Prayer, Praise, & Worship

Ministry of Encouragement Maryland opened its doors and began on May 1, 2016 in Cumberland Maryland. The ministry is a non- denominational church that is dedicated and committed to reaching out and encouraging people to apply biblical truth to every aspect of their lives and become all that God created them to be. The call was made, we answered and are here to serve the community. We are a worshipping body of believers who are spirit filled, spirit lead, and on fire for Christ.

Our Vision

To encourage people of our assembly,

communities, cities, and nation to surrender their whole heart to Jesus, catch “on Fire” in serving the Lord; thus, breaking the power of Satin’s strongholds, so that GOD’s people can live a more victorious life in Christ until He returns.

What We Believe

Ministry of Encouragement, of Cumberland Maryland, is a bible believing, bible teaching church. We believe that the bible, inspired by the Holy Spirit is the true Word of God.

The True God
John 4:23-24 Matthew 28:19
There is only one true God. He is shown to us in Father, son and Holy spirit, each with distinct personal attributes but all with one nature.

We Believe the bible is the divinely inspired word of God. It is a treasure gift that guides us through the journey of life. It holds the key and answer that enables us to live a complete and fulfilled life.

About   Pastor  Alfred   Deas. &  Co Pastor  Carrie  Deas

In February 2019, our beloved Alfred Deas transitioned on to be with our Lord.

Pastor Alfred Deas pastored for over 16 years, and on May 1, 2016, Pastor Alfred Deas and his wife Carrie Elizabeth Deas were led by God to establish Ministry of Encouragement Maryland.

Pastor Deas was heavily involved in a wide variety of community activities. He participated in The Community Unity in Action Program, Cumberland Heritage Days, The local NAACP, The Summer Lunch Program, and The Cumberland Housing Commission where he served as Vice President.

When called upon by the community, Pastor Deas always stepped up to the challenge to speak out for civil rights. When the KKK rallied in front of the Allegany County Courthouse in 2014, Pastor Deas led a counter rally to promote community harmony.

His tenure as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army prepared him to be a diligent front line general for the army of the Lord; and up until the very end, he remained committed to the heart of God and His people. He didn’t believe in converts, but disciples.

In keeping with God's desire; his beloved wife, Co-Pastor Carrie Deas became the lead Pastor of Ministry of Encouragement Maryland in February 2019. With that same vigor and tenacity, she is continuing the call of the Lord for the ministry, “Burning Hearts on Fire for the Lord”. Making disciples and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God outside of the physical church building, remains the mission of Ministry of Encouragement.

Mission Statement

The mission of Ministry of Encouragement is to seek to improve each member of our ministry to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially and encourage their desire to want to maintain that growth until Jesus returns. We focus on encouraging the unsaved, unchurched, and people who want a fresh start from their past mistakes by showing the unconditional Love OF GOD. We preach and teach bible and make ourselves available to all willing individuals who desire to achieve holistic improvement.
